Some unenthused NDC supporters have lambasted the minority leader, Haruna Iddrisu on social media over a viral photo in which the NDC caucus leader is seen in a close head chat with President Akufo-Addo.
The two met when the President commissioned a new ultra-modern office complex for the Ministry of National Security.
Though it is unclear what the two were actually discussing, it appears some NDC supporters have still not let go of the perception that some of their MPs are cutting deals with the government.
It will be recalled that in the aftermath of the vetting and approval of President Akufo-Addo’s nominees, many NDC Supporters, including the Party’s National Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi had accused the minority leadership of betraying Party interest to pursue their parochial agenda.
To these supporters, the only reason why the minority will preside over the approval of MPs like Kojo Oppong Nkrumah is because they have made back-hand deals.
This position, gained more credence when former special prosecutor, Martin Amidu alleged a few weeks ago that President Akufo-Addo used the double salary saga to hold minority MPs to ransom to approve his nominees.
This probably explains why some supporters are lashing Haruna Iddrisu for being in such close proximity to the President.
