Aliu Mahama’s Wife, Hajia Ramatu Is Dead

According to the report Available to GhanaFeed.com , the late Vice President’s wife died on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at a London hospital following a brief illness.

According to the story, Hajia Ramatu Mahama [Neè Egala] had been battling a cardiac condition and was sent to the United Kingdom for treatment.

“Hajia Ramatu Mahama had been suffering a suspected cardiac issue for the previous month but passed away on Sunday,” a family source revealed.

“After her mysterious sickness deteriorated, she was transported from Ghana’s Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital to the Cromwell Hospital.”

The mortal remains of the late Hajia Ramatu Mahama will be flown to Ghana for interment within the week, as per Islamic practice.

In Tamale, the former Vice President’s late wife worked as an educator. She was given the moniker of ‘Mma Ramatu’ for her love and concern for her students.

Hajia Ramatu Mahama was the daughter of the late Imoro Egala, a Minister of Trade and Industry in the first republic and the first black chairman of COCOBOD, as well as a long-serving political veteran in Ghana through the third republic, doubling as a founder of the PNP, now PNC.

Salma Mahama, Farouk Mahama, MP for Yendi, Fayad Mahama, and Halim Mahama are the four children of the late Hajia Ramatu Mahama.

On October 15, 2021, the late Hajia Ramatu Mahama, 69, would have turned 70.
