The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP), Kofi Owusu Omar, has hailed the combination of Alan-Bawumia as a perfect picture but added that it won’t work politically for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He opined that those calling for the two gentlemen to be paired as flagbearer and running mate for the NPP should slow down on the move, since it can’t materialize.
He claims that if such a move should have been pushed right after the NPP won the 2020 election and not now.
“When you decide to use flour to make pastry, you can use the flour to create any form of design you wish to; but as soon as it falls in the oil and becomes to fry, you can do anything about it. It is also like planting a tree. At its early stage you can decide to tilt it to the right or left, but as soon as it grows, you can’t force it to turn to the direction you want. If you force it, it will break”, he said as he analyzed the Bawumia-Alan ticket being trumpeted by some senior members of the NPP.
The National Chairman for the NPP, Freddie Blay has revealed that the NPP is working on an Alan-Bawumia ticket for the 2024 elections.
In an interview on a Kumasi based radio station, Mr. Blay stated there are non-public conversations amongst the highest hierarchy of the get together to see how they’ll unite the duo to defeat the opposition NDC through the elections.
