Bawumia Campaign Communications Lead Doubts Third Force Viability in 2024 Elections
Dennis Miracles Aboagye, the Communications Lead for the campaign of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has expressed strong skepticism regarding the potential impact of third-party forces in Ghana’s 2024 elections. According to Aboagye, these groups are unlikely to secure even 100,000 votes.
Aboagye emphasized that the critical choice for Ghanaians lies between the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC). He stressed the importance of electing a leader capable of transforming the country’s fortunes, noting that Ghanaians’ past experiences with both major parties would inform their decision-making.
“Going into a national election is a significant undertaking. It’s not something one can enter lightly or expect to influence overnight,” Aboagye stated. He highlighted the extensive groundwork required, referencing the 38,622 polling stations across the country where voters will address specific issues.
Aboagye reiterated the view that the main contenders in the upcoming election would be Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and former President John Dramani Mahama. “In the next election, predominantly, the choice is between Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and former President Mahama. None of the third forces can even gather 100,000 votes,” he asserted.
He urged Ghanaians to consider both macroeconomic and microeconomic factors when making their electoral decisions. “We need to analyze our situation comprehensively and decide based on what aspects are working for us and which are not,” Aboagye advised.
In conclusion, Aboagye called for a pragmatic approach to choosing the country’s leadership, cautioning against decisions driven by emotions. “Our country has several areas that need to be addressed. We must build and protect our future carefully,” he said.
