Akufo-Addo’s ‘Private Jet’ Accusations Are Laughable ‘Imaginations’ – Kwamena Duncan

Former Central Regional Minister, Kwamena Duncan has rubbished allegations against Akufo-Addo that he chartered a luxurious private jet to his recent trips to UK and Germany.

The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa revealed that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo spent a whopping Ghc3.46 million on a private jet on his recent trips to England and Germany.

After massive public outrage over the president’s decision to spend over 2.4 million Ghana cedis in May on private jets, the North Tongu MP has alleged that the president in his recent trips rented another luxurious jet which cost the taxpayer over £15, 000 an hour.

Ablakwa in a write up on his Facebook page, stated that the total of the president’s recent trips amounts to the colossal tune of US$574,000.00.

“Using the conservative rate of US$14,000 per hour, the two trips to the UK and Germany which requires some 28 hours of travel distance in and out plus an additional 13 hours of pick up and drop off time, the taxpayer has been burdened again to the colossal tune of US$574,000.00. At the current exchange rate, that is a staggering 3.46million Ghana Cedis.”

However, Kwamena Duncan believes the allegations are just conjectures and crappy.

“It’s mind-boggling . . . it’s laughable that a Member of Parliament, you are only conjecturing . . . as usual, this is crappy,” he said on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo.
