Akufo-Addo Would Not Appoint PC Appiah Ofori Because He Will Expose His ‘Sakawa’ Ministers – A Plus

Musician and political activist, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus has reacted to an interview by Mr PC Appiah Ofori, an appointee in the Agyekum-Kuffuor led NPP government.

In the said interview, Mr Appiah Ofori, a former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa Constituency bemoaned neglect by President Akufo-Addo after campaigning so hard for him.

According to Mr Ofori, he wrote to the President after winning the elections to make him a board member of the Office of the Special Prosecutor, however, the president did not respond to his letter.

He told TV3’s Johnnie Hughes, ”I championed Akufo-Addo and put him up from 2007 up to the time he became president 2016. I am not happy about my abandonment. I am not happy about the way Akufo-Addo doesn’t know me again.

“Either he has blocked my line or changed his line. If I call him it doesn’t go [through]. I personally petitioned Akufo-Addo that I wanted to be sent to the board if the [Office of] Special Prosecutor so that I will become the investigator but no response from him.

“I wrote the letter as soon as the Special Prosecutor was appointed. I just wanted to go there to investigate all these Auditor General’s reports. Some of the Auditor General’s reports are not comprehensive enough.”

However, reacting to the interview, A Plus was of the opinion that President Akufo-Addo would not appoint a known anti-corruption crusader like the former MP for fear that he will expose his ‘sakawa’ Ministers.
