Amidst the protests ongoing on social media calling on the government to fix the country, investigate journalist, Manasseh Azure has suggested that President Akufo-Addo may force the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to “break the 8” in opposition after the 2024 polls.
The new hashtag, #FixTheCountry has been trending on Twitter as Ghanaian Youth intensify pressure on the Akufo-Addo government to improve living conditions.
The hashtag, trending at number 1 on Ghana Twitter has received massive attention despite efforts by government loyalists to quench the momentum.
A counter-hashtag by government loyalists, #FixYourself was unable to unsettle the momentum by the youth as many more continue to join the campaign.
In a post on Facebook, Mansseh who has been criticising the government for its many shortcomings, noted that the party may be forced achieve their desire to break the 8 year cycle in opposition after 2024.
He wrote: “It seems Akufo-Addo wants the NPP to “break the 8″ in opposition after 2024. #fixthecountry.”
