Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, a leading member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has admitted that the economy is really in deep crisis.
In a Facebook post he said President Akufo-Addo have been having sleepless nights in a bid to find solutions to restore the economy.
“Yes, indeed, Ghana is in crisis. And the struggle is bitingly real. Most countries are in crisis now though levels may differ. What matters most is how we come out of it. It is what keeps our President up beyond midnight. And, I remain an incurably stubborn optimist (based on knowledge) that Nana Akufo-Addo and his team will lead us to come out of this even stronger. Keep faith!”
Ghana is currently expecting a bailout from the International Monetary Fund.
The IMF after a meeting with the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta have promised to come to the aid of the country.
