In a move that may yet turn out to be a well-thought-out strategy to silence controversial musician A Plus, President Akufo-Addo has appointed Dr. Felix Anyah, owner of Holy Trinity Spa & Health Farm and a former CEO of Korle-bu Teaching Hospital as the Board Chairman of the Ho Teaching Hospital.
Dr. Anyah’s new position was announced by the Minister of Health Mr. Kwaku Agyeman Manu as he commissioned the Board of Directors of both Ho and Korle Bu Teaching Hospitals at Ho and the Ministry of Health auditorium in Accra respectively.
The minister highlighted that, the new Boards being inaugurated are the first under the new amendment of Section 37 of Act 525 of the Ghana Health Service and Teaching Hospital act, 1996.
It will be recalled that Dr. Anyah was the CEO of Korle-bu Teaching hospital until he was unceremoniously booted out somewhere in 2018 following what many including A Plus described as a well-orchestrated sabotage by people in power.
A Plus in various interviews since the award-winning CEO’s sack from Ghana’s premier teaching hospital, has always insisted that Dr Anyah never took any allowances while he was at Korle-bu; a claim which has also been corroborated by some staff of the Teaching hospital.
Interestingly, Dr Anyah’s sacking marked the beginning of A Plus’ strained relationship with the New Patriotic Party after being a key feature in the 2016 electioneering campaign that ushered them to power.
Having made accusations upon accusations against the ruling party, and also threatened to release even more as we approach elections, it appears President Akufo-Addo’s re-appointment of Dr Anyah might just be a grand scheme to shut the controversial musician up.
Well, A Plus appears unenthused though as he posted on Facebook that his mentor’s re-appointment changes nothing.
