Akufo-Addo Appoints Cecilia Dapaah To Act In Place Of Adwoa Sarfo As Rumours Of Rift With President Intensifies

President Akufo-Addo has appointed Madam Cecilia Abena Dapaah, Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources to act as caretaker Minister for the Ministry of Gender and Social Protection.

This directive comes after some elements in the opposition NDC raised concerns that the substantive minister, Sarah Adwoa Sarfo has refused to go to work following a rift between her and the President.

Member of the NDC’s communications Team, Elikem Kotoko had claimed that Mrs Sarfo has been unhappy with President Akufo-Addo’s decision to compel her to reinstate the National Coordinator of the Ghana School Feeding programme, Mrs Gertrude Quarshigah after she fired her from post.

Elikem was questioning the whereabouts and silence of the gender minister concerning the defilement of 19 boys by a teacher at the Kulpi Junior High School in Salaga.

However, an official release from the Presidency said that the President had extended Mrs Adwoa Sarfo’s leave of absence, after she cited personal reasons.
