Akuffo Addo Eased Restrictions To Allow NPP Hold Its Congress – Mahama

Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, John Mahama has accused President Akuffo Addo of easing restrictions put in place to fight the Coronavirus to allow the NPP go ahead with its Presidential and Parliamentary Primaries.

Akuffo Addo in his tenth address to the country said Ghana would be easing restrictions with regards to Covid 19 in phases.

As a result, religious activities have started across the country although some Churches that seem not to be ready have decided to continue with their virtual services.

However in a Facebook live session, Mr Mahama said government did not decide to phase out the measures in fighting the deadly virus because it took consideration of the people but rather to satisfy its parochial interest.

He said the strategy of this government is to seek head immunity because they had lost the battle to contain the virus so they decided to open up the country and ease things so people could go out. He said if a lot of people get infected of the virus, the virus will have nowhere else to go and it will disappear.

He advised government to seek health expert advise and stop dabbling in narrow political interest.

“I know that the easing and all is to create a conducive environment so that the EC can go ahead with their new register and the NIA can continue with their issuance of the Ghana card and of course so that the ruling party the NPP can hold their congress to elect their flagbearer and Parliamentary candidates.”, he said.
