While some football fans flood the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium in Cameroon for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations games (AFCON), dealers have reserved a location to sell and cash in.
A seller was shown in a video washing empty plastic bottles after people had drink from them and disposed of them.
The purpose of washing the bottles and refilling them with silicon water, according to one of the dealers, is to avoid the spread of communicable diseases.
“To sell silicon water, I’m washing the bottles.” “I’m very carefully washing it,” the trader explained.
“She washes the bottles extremely carefully before filling them with water so that the other person doesn’t spread the other’s disease,” another woman explained to the reporter.
Cameroonians also assist these merchants by purchasing water, drinking it, and then returning the empty bottle to the seller to be washed, refilled, and sold to the next client.
