The Aburi Girls Senior High School in the Eastern Region is in mourning following the unexpected death of its revered Headmistress, Cynthia Anim, who passed away while attending an educational workshop in Rome, Italy. Mrs. Anim was in Rome alongside the Deputy Minister of Education, several senior high school heads, and selected students when the tragedy occurred.
Cynthia Anim was highly respected for her dedication to improving secondary education in Ghana. Her leadership and vision had a lasting impact on Aburi Girls Senior High School, where she championed academic excellence. In a statement issued by the Chairman of the school’s Board of Governors, Rev. E.A. Asiedu, deep sorrow was expressed on behalf of students, staff, and parents.
“We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved Headmistress, Mrs. Cynthia Anim,” Rev. Asiedu said. “Her passion for education and her relentless pursuit of academic excellence at Aburi Girls SHS have left an indelible mark on the school.”
Mrs. Anim was participating in an international workshop aimed at enhancing educational standards when the unfortunate event occurred. “With the sure hope of the resurrection, we regret to inform the school community of this devastating loss,” Rev. Asiedu added.
The Board of Governors has scheduled an emergency meeting for Monday, September 30, at 10 a.m. in the school’s Boardroom to discuss arrangements following Mrs. Anim’s passing and to ensure that her legacy continues to guide the school’s mission.
Condolences are pouring in from all quarters, with heartfelt sympathies extended to Mrs. Anim’s family and the entire Aburi Girls SHS community during this difficult time.
