Residents of the Atebubu-Amantin District in the Bono East Region were shocked when a nine-month-old aborted baby was discovered alive in the Amantin Newtown cemetery.
The entire town gathered at the Amantin New Town Cemetery to witness the aborted baby being saved by a good samaritan who noticed the lifeless baby boy abandoned in the cemetery.
Mr. Mohammed Abdulai told the Republic Press (RP) over the phone that the baby was first noticed by some Fulani herders who were tending their cattle.
“As a result, I followed them to see what happened, only to discover the youngster on the ground.
“So what I did was take the aborted baby boy to Amantin Clinic first, before transferring him to Atebubu Government Hospital and placing him in an incubator.” Mohammed Abdulai told the story.
The case has been submitted to the Amantin Police Station for further investigation, according to Mr. Abdulai.
Ms Abigail Opoku, the chief of midwifery at Atebubu Government Hospital, informed residents that the baby was in good health and that the hospital will continue to watch his progress.
