A founding member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Yaw Boateng Gyan has described as ‘disrespectful’ Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa’s decision to resign from Parliament’s Appointment Committee.
Citing personal reasons and principle, Ablakwa resigned on Wednesday March 31, 2021 after Fiance minister, Ken Ofori-Atta was approved.
Reacting to it, Yaw Boateng Gyan noted that Mr Ablakwa’s expertise is needed on the Committee and it’s unfortunate he resigned without consulting the leadership of the NDC.
“This should have been discussed within the party. There are elders in the party and he [Ablakwa] should have consulted some of us for advice,” he said.
Adding that “What he did was disrespectful. They belong to a party and must bring such issues to the party leaders to solve this issue.”
