There has been considerable controversy generated on social and mainstream media after Parliament, by a majority decision passed honourables; Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Hawa Koomson, and Dr. Afriyie Akoto.
The three appointees had initially been rejected by the minority MPs on the appointment committee for various reasons.
National communications officer of the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi has described the leadership of the minority caucus in parliament as traitors in the aftermath of yesterday’s proceedings.
Pro-NDC journalist, Mugabe Maase has also muddied the waters by claiming that the minority MPs took an amount of 5 Million Cedis as bribe from the government in order to pass the appointees.
According to Mugabe, with the exception of MP for North Tongu, Okudzeto Ablakwa and MP for Tamale North, Alhassan Suhuyini, all the others took the bribe.
It is unclear if Mugabe’s claims are factual or inaccurate.
