The Minority leader in Parliament, and member of Parliament for Tamale South, Haruna Iddrisu has issued a stern warning to the ruling New Patriotic Party, warning them to desist from any planned acts of violence on election day.
According to the honourable MP, despite the fact that his party has acted peacefully even in the face of extreme violence perpetrated against them by the NPP, they will not tolerate such unwarranted acts on election day.
The usually calm and soft-spoken Haruna Iddrisu warned the NPP to be mindful that they do not have a monopoly over violence, cautioning that the NDC will respond swiftly and appropriately if they feel that they are being met with violence on voting day.
The minority leader stressed that inasmuch as his party wishes to protect and uphold the peace of the country, they would not do so on the back of deliberate attacks from the ruling party.
