The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling NPP, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi has claimed that his party is aware of a brewing tension between the General Secretary of the NDC, Asiedu Nketiah and the Party’s running mate, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang.

Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, noted that it was the wish of Mr. Asiedu Nketia to partner the flagbearer of the NDC, Mr. John Mahama, for the 2020 Presidential elections and not Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang.

The snub, according to the NPP Chairman has generated hatred in the heart of the NDC’s General Secretary affectionately called General Mosquito. He is silently beefing Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the NPP Chairman underscored.

In an interview on Security Tips, a show that airs on Wontumi TV, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, explained that General Mosquito’s hatred for his party was demonstrated when he decided to remain mute when his party paid Otumfuo a visit at the Manhyia Palace.

The NPP Chairman popularly referred to as Chairman Wontumi explained that “Asiedu Nketia was looking for the running mate slot. He wasn’t happy at Manhyia Palace and had to be lured before he added his voice”.

Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia has publicly disclosed that he wouldn’t have turned down an opportunity to partner John Mahama if the opportunity had presented itself.

According to him, though he had expressed interest, the party and flagbearer found it more convenient to appoint someone who is very capable like himself to assist the NDC flagbearer.
