The presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, met with the Ghana Catholic Bishops Conference yesterday at the Pope John Paul Formation Centre at Ofoase Kokoben in Ashanti Region.

The meeting, led by the Conference president, Most Rev. Dr. Matthew Kwasi Gyamfi, focused on pressing national issues, including the upcoming December 7 polls and the moral fibre of Ghanaian society.

Dr. Bawumia, in a statement posted on his social media platform, described the discussions as “open, frank, and insightful.”

He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to engage with the Catholic Bishops, and he specifically thanked them for their “fatherly advice,” which he deemed invaluable.

“I am grateful for the open, frank, and insightful discussions on important national issues, including the December 7 polls and the moral fibre of our society. I am particularly grateful for the fatherly advice. May God bless us all,” he stressed.

The meeting is one of the Vice President’s continued engagements with various religious and community groups ahead of the December 7 elections, which his campaign team says aims to foster a peaceful, morally-grounded, and unified approach to governance and national development.

The NPP flagbearer, who is on a campaign tour in the Ashanti Region, has consistently emphasised the importance of government’s partnerships with faith-based organisations in national development.

From Ofoase Kokoben, Vice President Dr. Bawumia continued his campaign tour, with significant stops in the Bekwai, Bosomtwe, Ejisu, and Asokwa constituencies.

He was warmly welcomed by enthusiastic supporters, which he indicated had energised his commitment to drive Ghana’s holistic development through his policies and programmes.

“I am grateful for the ecstatic welcome accorded me, and I continue to be fortified in my belief that my policies and programmes are the best fit for moving Ghana to the next level of her holistic development,” he stated.

Encouraging Ghanaians to rally behind his vision, Dr. Bawumia urged his supporters to spread the word, saying, “Call a friend to call a friend to vote for new ideas and bold solutions on December 7. Together, we can make it possible.”

Dr. Bawumia’s campaign tour of the Ashanti Region gained momentum as he received another rousing welcome in Akrofuom, Obuasi East, and Obuasi West.

He said the enthusiastic reception was a testament to the growing support for his vision of a better Ghana.
