Popular content creator Father Ankrah has voiced his frustration with Oyerepa FM over what he perceives as biased reporting regarding a serious accusation against him. According to Ankrah, the Ashanti Region-based radio station was quick to publicize his photo and discuss accusations that he was involved in a relationship with a seventeen-year-old girl who was reportedly pregnant.
In a recent statement, Ankrah shared that he agreed to undergo a DNA test, which ultimately revealed that he was not the biological father of the child. Despite the cleared allegations, he noted that Oyerepa FM chose not to broadcast the DNA test results as openly as they did the initial claims, opting instead to conduct a private discussion rather than publicly updating listeners on the outcome.
Father Ankrah further criticized the broader media landscape, questioning the lack of accountability and support for individuals when false accusations damage their reputations. He expressed concern over what he described as a media tendency to sensationalize negative stories about those achieving success, while often neglecting to provide a platform for truth and growth opportunities.
The incident has ignited a conversation around media ethics in Ghana, with calls for responsible journalism and fair reporting. As of now, Oyerepa FM has yet to issue a statement addressing Ankrah’s remarks or to clarify their approach to covering the DNA test results.
