The Afiaman Presby School Complex has received educational and other essential life support from the Gold Coast Literacy Program.
Dubbed the Smile Project, the Gold Coast Literacy Programme gives Four Basic Life Essentials to four Communities of which the Afiaman Presby School Complex is the first.
The school had its classroom blocks renovated while students enjoyed free health screening, free National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) registration, and goodie bags for over 1000 children.
Some of the Health Checks included malaria tests, Hepatitis B, Typhoid, HIV.
Speaking exclusively to Pak MediaGh, the Founder and Creator of the Gold Coast Literacy Program, Daisy Mina Antwi appealed to organisations and individuals to support and willingly come on board whenever invitations are extended to them for assistance.
Headmistress of the Afiaman Presby School Complex, Joyce Anim expressed gratitude to the Gold Coast Literacy Programme for the support.
She also appealed for support from the government and the general public. She asked that the school be walled to deter motor riders who have constantly used it as a road.
Mrs Joyce Anim also appealed for a computer lab highlighting the importance of computer literacy in today’s digital world.
She said the students will be updated with the digital world once the school has a computer lab to teach and equip them.
