Don’t Start Calling The Judiciary Names When You You Lose A Court Case – A Plus Tells NDC

Social commentator Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, has called on the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and others to refrain from name-calling when court decisions don’t go their way.

This comes after Ghana’s Court of Appeal upheld a submission of no case in the ambulance case involving Cassiel Ato Forson and others, a ruling celebrated by the opposition party. The NDC has previously been critical of the judiciary, often accusing it of bias in favor of the current government.

Opposition leader John Dramani Mahama, a vocal critic of the judiciary, has previously claimed that the judiciary is influenced by the government. However, following the appeal court’s ruling, Mahama acknowledged that some judges still maintain their integrity.

A Plus responded to this shift in tone, urging the opposition to stop the name-calling when court decisions don’t favor them. He said, “The judiciary, under the leadership of the Chief Justice, Justice Gertrude Torkornoo, is the very same institution that acquitted Ato Forson. Refrain from resorting to name-calling when its decisions do not align with your expectations.”
