The Dean of its Faculty of Law at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Professor Ernest Kofi Abotsi has indicated that political party primaries are central to Ghana’s governance deficit.
According to him, the challenges with governance in the country can be attributed to the quality of leaders elected during the parties’ primaries.
In a tweet, Prof Abosti said corruption in governance is a function of corruption at the polls.
“Party primaries are central to Ghana’s governance deficit. Corruption in governance is a function of corruption at the polls. Misrule when elected into office is traceable to the quality of candidates.
“Yet we are strangely less interested, treating it as insider party affair,” he said.
