The General Secretary of the opposition NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia has announced that he will not be seeking re-election as scribe of the Party when his tenure expires.
Mr. Nketia has been the chief scribe of the NDC for the past 17 years and has distinguished himself in that role as a very accomplished politician earning respect across the political divide.
However, with rumors circulating that he is eyeing the Chairmanship position of the party currently held by Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, Mr. Asiedu Nketia has announced his decision not to contest again as General Secretary.
He indicated that he is either going for the chairmanship or retire from active partisan politics.
This brings to an end all speculations about his political future.
Asiedu-Nketiah will go down in history as the longest serving General Secretary of a major political party.
