The Member of Parliament (MP) for Evalue Adjomoro Gwira Constituency in the Western Region says the hardship in Ghana is not a global phenomenon as the government is claiming.

Arko Nokoe

Speaking on the Jolly Breakfast Show (JBS) on Skyy Power 93.5FM on Tuesday, July 27, 2022, Mr Nokoe said the Mid Year Review Budget from the Finance Ministry did not address the concerns of the Ghanaians.

He said the government has related the current hardship and inflation in the country to the Covid-19 pandemic and external events like the Russia-Ukraine war.

According to him, these are flimsy excuses from the government to cover their incompetence and extravagant expenditure.

He said, “Ghana is the largest exporter of cocoa in the world, same as Cote D’Ivoire, go and check the price of their cocoa and inflation rate, didn’t they also get affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and Russia-Ukraine war?”

He indicated that if the economy of Cote D’Ivoire is stable, why not Ghana? and pointed out that this is a result of incompetence from the side of the government and their needless spending.

He also said the Finance Minister does not deserve his office.

“Ken Ofori-Attah must be fired, he is incompetent and responsible for the current state of economic hardship in the country.”
