Ghanaian football enthusiasts may have observed a worrying trend of inconclusive reports yesterday, in which Arsenal’s Ghanaian star midfielder, Thomas Teye Partey was alleged to have been picked up over alleged rape.
The reports, curiously inconclusive, claimed that a top African footballer in his late 20’s had picked up in Barnet, North London on allegations of rape.
Following the breakout of this report, fingers began pointing at the Ghanaian star, especially after Arsenal correspondent, Chris Wheatley backtracked on an earlier tweet that the Star midfielder was with the Arsenal team in Germany for pre-season training.
However, news reports coming in this morning indicates that Partey has joined his team mates in Germany for pre-season and has not been picked up on any rape charges as speculated.
