National Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Sammi Awuku has disclosed that he will not seek re-election as National Organizer when the Party opens nominations for prospective National Executives.
The Director-General of the NLA, who has distinguished himself exceptionally in his roles as National Youth Organizer and National Organizer of the NPP says he intends to focus on public service.
In an interview with TV3’s Johnnie Hughes, Mr. Awuku said it was only prudent to leave when the applause is still high.
According to him, he is confident that the Party has several capable men and women who can take over the mantle and deliver.
“What I want to do is to have the opportunity to serve all out as a distinguished public servant and I share in Nana Addo’s story when he says ‘Public Service is Public Service’.
Speaking on his plans for the NLA, Mr. Awuku said he is fully committed to rebranding the image of the NLA, and ensuring increase in revenue generation for the Authority.
Mr. Awuku called on all staff of the NLA to see him as a friend to all of them, while also calling for cooperation in improving the fortunes of the Authority.
