Gabby Otchere-Darko Badly Exposed In Glaring Double Standard Talk On Tax And Revenue Mobilization

Cousin of the President, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko has been badly exposed in what appears to be a glaring flip-flopping double standars talk on taxes and government revenue mobilization.

In a screenshot of tweets by Mr. Otchere-Darko from 2013 while his party was in opposition to now when his party is in power, the NPP Stalwart has been exposed as nothing but a man shamefully contradicting his own self.

Gabby, who appeared to be very opposed to increasing taxes as a means of revenue mobilization by the erstwhile Mahama administration, is suddenly a fierce proponent of increase in taxes just because his own party is in power.

Gabby posted today on Twitter “Ghana’s development paradox. You say you want the country fixed. Yet, you are against raising revenue to get it fixed! Motives Mater!”

He was responding to widespread anger in the country following the announcement in the 2022 budget by Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta that the government was slapping a 1.7% tax on poor people who often use Mobile Money (MoMo) as their quasi-banking services.

However, a dive into his social media past revealed that he was against the same thing he is defending now a few years ago when he was in opposition.
