The hot mess that has resulted from what is reported to be President Akufo-Addo’s extra-marital affairs with a Canada-based Ghanaian lesbian, has whipped up a serious scandal where the lady at the centre of the exposé claims the President tried to bribe her with US$ 200,000 to keep her quiet.
Latest is the revelation that in his desperation to ensure that Evelyn Aidoo, aka Serwaa Broni does not spill an intimate secret between herself and the President, the President made the offer in secret.
According to the explosive video by the Canadian woman, the President had offered to throw the money at her through Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong who is a longtime acquaintance.
However, according to Ms Broni, Ken Agyapong had discouraged the President from paying the bribe, instead, offering to use his personal acquaintance with her to talk her out of any desire to spill the President’s dirty secret.
It is not known what exactly this secret is and Serwaa Broni, a lesbian in an openly gay relationship with a thick-tall female lover in Canada, has said she will never release the secret and never had any intention of doing so.
She has however hinted that it is sexual with pointers indicating it is a video recording. If this is the case, then the President of Ghana’s latest scandal could be bordering on a potential sex tape.
Apparently, the fear of the President having the said secret out is what reportedly drove him to use National Security to stage a robbery on Serwaa Broni at Dawhenya in Accra.
According to the woman, after she had had a number of rendezvous with the President in hotel rooms, the President became hostile, including calling her on phone to warn that he suffered to become President and is therefore willing to go any length to protect his Presidency.
Mr. Akufo-Addo would eventually lure her down to Ghana and then arrange for National Security operatives to rob her in the hope of confiscating the secret video of the President.
Serwaa Broni indicates in a two-hour long broadcast on Facebook that the President was afraid that she would release his secret but that she has never had the intention of releasing that secret even though she has learnt her lessons from the encounter that resulted in that secret.
According to her, the national security operatives who had robbed her had crossed a vehicle she was traveling into Togo at Dawhenya amidst warning shots and ransacked all her belongings, especially her bags and wallets, apparently searching for the secret the President wants to keep under wraps.
In the process, she says, the operatives slammed a door on her leg, resulting in her suffering hematoma.
Ultimately, however, she says, she has been suffering Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PSTD) as well as a consequence of her ordeal with the thugs.
According to her, she is venting her story with the President because her caregivers in Canada have advised that venting will speed her healing process.
She says she knows it was a robbery that was staged by the President because Mr. Akufo-Addo confessed and apologized for the hit when she later confronted him at his office at Jubilee House.
Apparently, it was after this that a contrite and fearful President Akufo-Addo had decided that to ensure that Serwaa Broni does not release his dirty secret to the public, he could throw US$200,000 at her.
Serwaa Broni who says she never received the money, continuously reiterates in her video that she had had no intention whatsoever of releasing the secret the President was so worried about.
She also informs the President that she never received the money and that she is not interested in the money and so the President can go back for his money.
Civil Society Organization, Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability (ASEPA) has called on Parliament to probe revelation that President Akufo-Addo used National Security to carry out an armed robbery hit on his lesbian lover.
In a statement signed by its Executive Director, Mensah Thompson, ASEPA said a probe was necessary because the allegations are criminal and also bother on National Security as well.
“This is an issue that requires the full attention of Parliament of Ghana because it involves a direct allegation of criminality against the sitting president of Ghana,” ASEPA said in a statement.
