The Auditor-General has uncovered a staggering ¢44 million worth of abandoned projects and completed projects not put to use across the country.
In its latest report on management and utilisation of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF), the Auditor-General found that many assemblies spent millions on projects only to abandon them before they are completed.
In all, the Auditor-General uncovered contract irregularities worth ¢45 million in 107 assemblies.
The Auditor-General also found cases where payments were made although contractors failed to do the job.
