Akufo-Addo ‘Stealing’ Our Monies And Enjoying Them With Jospong – Manasseh Laments

Investigative journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni has bemoaned President Akufo-Addo’s reluctance to deal with the Jospong Group and their continuous fleecing of huge money from the state.

In a post on Facebook after the auditor general indicted Zoomlion (a business under Jospong group) of taking money from the state despite failing to do their tasks, Manasseh believes government is in bed with the company to swindle Ghanaians.

According to him, the Jospong group have severally been indicted in the auditor general’s report yet there has been no commitment from the government to sever any ties with them.

He expressed worry over how then candidate Akufo-Addo lambasted the John Mahama government for dealing with the Jospong group and vowed to cut ties with them if elected, however, years into governance, President Akufo-Addo has refused to honour his promise.

This makes him believe the President is a direct beneficiary of these shady deals with Jospong.

“In 2016, Nana Akufo-Addo promised to stop this kind of thievery. That’s why some of us fell for him. In November 2016, he and the NPP said John Mahama could not stop such shady deals with Jospong because he was benefitting directly from them.

“At this stage, is it not fair to ask if Nana Akufo-Addo is benefitting directly from the rot? Or, what has changed, Mr. President?”
