Founder and leader of the Lighthouse Chapel International, Bishop Dag Heward Mills has apologized to the Asantehene, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II after a secret recording went viral in which the Bishop is heard flaying the monarch.

In the said recording, Bishop Dag is heard making some unpalatable remarks about the King, describing his reign as useless.

Bishop Dag Heward Mills claimed that the Asantehene is not deserving of the title, ‘King Solomon’ because all he does is organize funerals and ceremonies and have affairs with multiple women.

However, in a statement released and signed by the embattled Bishop, he apologized profoundly to the Asante Overlord.

Bishop Dag acknowledged the good works of the King especially in the area of education.

The statement also claimed that the controversial recording is part of a message preached over 20 years ago and have been taken out of context to achieve a mischievous agenda.

The Manhyia Palace is yet to officially respond to the secret recording and the subsequent apology statement.

However, our sources at the Palace revealed that the leaders of the Church, including Bishop Dag himself went before the Asantehene and his council of elders to plead for forgiveness.

The King and his council, according to our source, accepted the apology and asked the Bishop to apologise publicly.

The said secret recording has received widespread condemnation from majority of the Ghanaian population and Asantes in particular.
