An Executive Member of Global Islamic Point Skeikh Hussein Hassan Yeboah has taken on the Methodist Church of Ghana over their disregard of GES’ directive to permit Muslim students in Wesley Girls Senior High School to engage in the ongoing Ramadan fast.
According to him Ramadan is a pillar of Islam, and Muslims should not be prevented from fasting.
He noted that Ghana is a secular state and has laws that allow Christians, Muslims and African Traditional believers to practice hence one religion, should not be seen as superior to the other; adding that Muslims must not be discriminated against in schools.
To him, the Methodist Church’s outright rejection of the Ghana Education Service directive to allow Muslim students fast in Wesley girls is an attempt to ignite war between Christians and Muslims.
”Those playing the war drums should know that we can equally play a war drum. We can do more than he is doing but it is not the solution so they should be careful. Can they stand when there is a war in Ghana? They should go and google the fastest growing religion in the world. Islam will still remain stronger in the country,” the Islamic Scholar was quoted by rainbowradio online.
