The minister of information, Hon. Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah has revealed that the health minister, Hon. Kwaku Agyeman-Manu has been discharged from the University of Ghana Medical Centre having been admitted at the facility after contracting the novel coronavirus.
Hon. Oppong-Nkrumah at a presser on Monday evening, June 15, 2020, disclosed that the Health Minister is now responding to treatment at his home having spoken to him earlier.
The Information Minister said, “He is not physically sick but he is taking the medication he has been given and he is responding to treatment”.
Hon. Agyeman-Manu casted doubts about him having Covid-19 after news of his infection broke out. He is reported to have said that he was “resting” at the UGMC and not as a result of a Covid infection.
The air was however cleared by the President when he confirmed on 14th June, 2020, that indeed the Health Minister had contracted the virus which had taken him to the UGMC for care, during his 11th address to the nation on Ghana’s Covid-19 response thus far.
