As part of its corporate social responsibility, Ecobank Ghana Limited has supported the Ghana COVID-19 Private Sector Fund with an amount of GH¢1.3 million.
The donation, which was in collaboration with Ecobank Foundation, comprises a cash amount of GH¢750,000.00, as well as the cost of personal protective equipment (PPEs) and 10,000 COVID-19 testing kits, all valued at GH¢550,000.00, the Ghana News Agency reported.
During the Accra and Kumasi lockdown in Ghana, the bank supported the government’s efforts on mitigating hardships to head-porters, popularly known as the “Kayaye”.
Mr Daniel Sackey, Managing Director of Ecobank Ghana Limited said in relation to the bank’s contribution to mitigating the impact of COVID-19 in Ghana, “As a bank that cares, Ecobank is positioned and committed to supporting the efforts of the government and other relevant stakeholders to manage and stop the spread of COVID-19.
