Former Minister of Trade and Industry, Ekwow Spio-Garbrah has lauded the election of Alban Bagbin as Speaker of the 8th Parliament.
According to him Bagbin’s experience in the Legislative house is going to help mark the end of the “Winner Takes All” politics in the country.
“…With his experience, he will be able to contribute to the nation’s democratic credentials. It is not surprising some Parliamentarians, knowing his competency and capability, put their partisan affiliation aside and voted Mr Bagbin in the interest of the nation,” he told Ghana News Agency.
He further advised President Akufo-Addo to make his ministerial appointments based on merits and not mere political affiliations.
