It appears the political genius of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and his wife Samira Bawumia may be the NPP’s biggest bargaining chip in the 2020 elections, as results from over 80% of Ghana’s total polling stations suggest.
Highly placed sources have disclosed to this portal that after collating over 80% of polling station results, the governing NPP has garnered about 53.22% against the NDC’s 45.50% in the presidential elections.
This represents an 8% lead on the president’s main rival, John Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). In real numbers, it represents a difference of about 800,000 votes.
About 10,000 polling stations remain to be collated according to our sources.
From the look of things, the EC might be able to live to its promise of declaring the results in 24 hours, considering the fact that the results are being transmitted electronically after they have been certified.
