Minister for Health, Kwaku Agyeman-Manu has blamed the rising numbers of the Coronavirus cases in the country on the public.
According to the minister, members of the public blatantly refuse to adhere to simple safety protocols announced by the government to contain the virus.
Speaking Okay FM’s ‘Ade Akye Abia’, he noted that public transport drivers and passengers especially are the most offenders as they disregard simple safety instructions.
He however said there is no cause for alarm as government have measures in place to deal with the rising numbers.
“The government will soon start to prosecute offenders who simply refuse to carry common safety nose masks as they go out to engage in their daily activities,” he said.
On shortage of PPE’s Kwaku Agyeman-Manu said government has made some orders which is expected this week.
He expressed government’s commitment to protecting health proffessionals in this period of concern.
Ghana’s Covid-19 case stands at 9,910 confirmed cases as at morning of Tuesday June 9, 2020, with 3,645 recoveries and 48 deaths.
