Kwabena Donkor, Member of Parliament for Pru East has labeled the Ghanaian church as a weak institution compared to the state.
He was reacting to reports of a collapsed church in Akyem Batabi where about 20 persons have died with several others injured.
According to him, the church plays a role in developing a country, however, leadership and accountability in the Ghanaian church does not supersede that of the state.
“And when we talk about leadership, too often we only think about political leadership, but it goes beyond that. Captains of industry, spiritual leadership. The Ghanaian church for example is as weak as the Ghanaian state. Accountability in the Ghanaian church is as weak as it is in the state,” he said on the Morning Starr.
