Residents Allegedly Attack Police Officers In Volta Region, Free Suspect

Some residents of Gbefi in the Kpando Municipality of the Volta Region, have allegedly attacked police officers from the Kpando Command, freeing a suspect in the process.

The unidentified suspect was nabbed to assist in investigations after a man reported him to the police for a threat of murder made on his life over a piece of land which the complainant claimed was being used for the cultivation of marijuana.

Things however took a different turn as about 400 residents of Gbefi attacked the eight Policemen who arrested the suspect.

According to reports, the suspect was also freed and has since been on the run.
