$5 Million Bribe: Lawyer Afrifa Sues General Legal Council Over Decisions Taken Against Him

The lawyer at the center of the $5 million bribe scandal against the Chief Justice, Lawyer Kwasi Afrifa has sued the General Legal Council for some decisions taken against him.

Lawyer Kwasi Afrifa in a civil suit filed against the GLC is praying the court to reject the findings made against him by the regulatory body of the legal profession.

The GLC, after its preliminary investigations, found Kwasi Afrifa guilty of 9 counts of misconduct, which he is yet to respond to.

Kwasi Afrifa, while responding to disciplinary proceedings filed against him by his former client, Ogyeedom Obranu Kwesi Atta VI, implicated chief Justice Kwasi Anin Yeboah, claiming the CJ had demanded a bribe of $5 Million from Ogyeedom.

The Chief Justice denied the allegations and referred the matter to the CID for investigations.
