2024 Is The Focus- Dr. Smart Sarpong Tells Delegates

A Senior Lecturer and a Senior Research Fellow at the Kumasi Technical University’s Institute of Research, Innovation and Development – IRID, Dr. Smart Sarpong, has advised delegates to focus on the 2024 elections as they approach the polls this Saturday at Accra Sports Stadium.

Speaking on the internal elections on Movement TV, Dr. Sarpong disclosed that the election is one of the most important decision delegates are going to make and that will affect the outcome of the 2024 elections.

In his submission he said, “your campaign message is very important; what you say about your opponents, what they say about you and what they say about themselves. Whoever is voting this Saturday should have 2024 in mind- it shouldn’t be about bringing your friend or family member in power’’.

In justifying his statement he stated that, ‘’New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) strong hold is the Ashanti Region and Volta is for the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Only 30 out of 47 constituencies in the Ashanti Region are NPP’s strong holds, 17 constituencies are not strongholds- they are battle fields. Elect leaders that will help you access resources and funds for campaigns least 2024 will be shaky’’

He indicated that in a political discourse the winning party wins with not less than 70% votes in the various constituencies, the losing party loses with not less than 30%.

‘’Out of the total constituencies in the Ashanti Region, it is just Bantama that the  Region garner all votes in the various polling stations. However, in 14 constituencies in the Volta the NDC wins all polling stations and that shows they have total control’’, he added.

He advised delegates to be strategic in electing the new executives for the party to break the 8 come 2024.

‘’Vote for people with great experience’’, he concluded.
