The fate of the December 2020 general elections hang on the balance as some disgruntled disqualified candidates threaten to run to the courts to obtain an order that will restrain the electoral commission from going ahead with the elections.

The flagbearer of the United Front Party (UFP), Nana Agyenim Boateng, popularly known as Gyataba has threatened to drag the Electoral Commission (EC) to court for disqualifying him from contesting in December, 7 polls.

According to him, if he is not reinstated in 48 hours, he will run to the court to place an injunction on the December poll.

Gyataba is not the only disqualified candidate to threaten an injunction though as others like Akwasi Addai Odike, and Marricke Gane have also hinted same.

As to whether the elections will proceed as planned or whether it will be held hostage by a legal process, time will tell.
