Your Agenda Against Haruna Won’t Work – Friends Of Haruna To President Mahama

It is with deep worry and disappointment that we make this public statement. It is obvious, and becoming increasingly clear that Hon. Haruna Idrissu is a political nightmare to former President Mahama and a few others in the NDC.

This needless unwarranted fear has always influenced some subtle decisions and moves in the party.

It is highly unfortunate that it has gotten to a point where we have to come public to call out the former President and speak against such machinations.

This decision to replace our leadership in Parliament, if not reversed would create a high level of confusion in our party, because Hon. Haruna also commands a very large following in our party.

Frankly, we don’t know what necessitated these changes as it’s very needless and unnecessary. Hon. Haruna and co have performed so well, and one can only describe this decision as one inspired by internal mafia.

This strategic subtility and craftiness of replacing them with perceived dedicated and loyal members of Mahama is clearly a move to parade only yesmen as leaders of our party and key figures for the campaign, which can easily be discerned by any reasonable and critical thinking member of our party.

This unfortunate decision substantively defies the fundamental spirit of teamwork, which include ‘agreeing to disagree’, cohesion and unity in diversity, and leads to the actualization of a calculated and deliberate intention to hijack the party ahead of the 2024 elections.

It is in consideration of the foregoing that we hereby come out publicly to call on all true and well-meaning members of the great NDC to come together in defence of our party to ensure that we built a strong united NDC for the 2024 elections, by speaking strongly against Mahama’s penchant for impunity and abuse of power that may lead to the jeopardy of the party that we are enjoined to protect and defend.
