‘You Only Visited Me When You Were In Power’ – Otumfuo Chides Mahama

“You only visit me when you were in power, it has been a while you came to visit me. Today I have seen people who for a very long time, I haven’t set eyes on”, were the words of revered Ashanti King Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to former President John Dramani Mahama and his team who paid him a visit today.

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. John Mahama paid a courtesy call to introduce his running mate, Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang to the overlord of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.

Otumfuo reminded the former president to rectify some mistakes that made him lose the 2016 general elections “as he was angrily and hungrily voted out by Ghanaians.”

He ended his speech by advising them to often visit the Manhyia Palace like they did before, noting that “my grandchildren, today I have seen you all, next time come and visit me”.
