“You Have Absolutely No Respect For Akans” – Akyem Chief Tells John Mahama Over ‘Akyem Sakawa Boys’ Tag

A respected Chief, Nana Oteatuoso Kokobeng II has condemned former President Mahama for what he describes as disrespecting the Akan tribe at any given opportunity.

Nana Oteatuoso Kokobeng II in an interview on the Wontumi Morning Show berated the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress for describing Akyem people as “Sakawa boys” to wit fraudsters.

“Mahama doesn’t respect Akans but we (Akans) are decent people and we won’t respond in the manner you have taken. You talk down on Ashantis and Akyems and I want to tell you that you are at liberty to make all those condemnable statements. Continue to insult us”, he said.

The Chief’s comments are in response to an article written by Bolga Central MP, Isaac Adongo in which he described the NPP as ‘Akyem Sakawa boys’, a post which was gleefully shared by NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama on his Facebook wall.
