When You Say Corruption Is Going On, NPP Footsoldiers Get Angry, Is Corruption The Other Name Of NPP? A Plus Asks

Published

Musician and political activist, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus has chastized footsoldiers of the ruling New Patriotic Party, saying they get angry whenever corruption is mentioned.

According to the musician, even when you say the 150 dollars being charged at the airport is wrong and that the money is going into some people’s pockets, NPP footsoldiers get angry. He asked if corruption is the other name of the NPP.

In a Facebook post, he wrote,

“So wait ooo, why is it then you say NDC and NPP are the same or there is corruption going on in a particular sector NPP supporters get angry? Why, is corruption the other name of NPP? When you say the 150 dollar being charged at the airport is wrong and that the money is going into some people’s pockets, some hungry footsoldiers like the one in the photo who will never get some of the money get angry and start insulting 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂What has that got to do with NPP as a party? I don’t get it”.

Mahama’s Statement On Mortuaries For Zongos Has Been Distorted, Ignore False Claims – NDC Campaign Team

Published

on

The Campaign Team of the Opposition National Democratic Congress for the 2020 Elections has clarified it’s position on claims making round that the Party intends to construct Mortuaries in Zongo Communities when given the nod in December.

In a statement, the campaign team of John Mahama described the publications as false, misleading and a deliberate attempt to whip-up anti-Muslim sentiments against the NDC and the JOHN MAHAMA 2020 Campaign.

Below is the full statement by the campaign team of Mr Mahama

2020 ELECTIONS: MAHAMA PROMISES MORE MORTUARIES FOR ZONGO COMMUNITIES

The attention of the JOHN MAHAMA 2020 Campaign has been drawn to a false, misleading and inaccurate claims in publications carried by sections of the online media titiled “2020 elections: Mahama promises more mortuaries for Zongo communities”.

For the records, the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr John Dramani Mahama, during a live interview with TV XYZ and Woezor TV, took the opportunity to highlight his party’s proposed interventions in the People’s Manifesto for Zongos and Deprived Urban Settlements.

Reading from page 82 of the NDC’s 2020 manifesto, Mr Mahama mentioned a number of interventions aimed at addressing “the historical inequalities between Zongo, Deprived Urban Settlements and other communities, including the negative effects of the Alien Compliance Order implemented by the Danquah-Busia tradition on Zongos”.

Acknowledging the concerns of Muslims about how traditional mortuaries handle their beloved ones when they pass on, Mr Mahama quoted the specific section of the People’s Manifesto which addresses the issue and aims at lessening the burden of bereaved Muslims by treating their deceased loved ones in line with accepted practices of the Islamic faith.

“So a lot of the Muslim communities have not been happy. And so we say ‘we will facilitate the establishment of mortuaries in accordance with Islamic custom and practices and collaborate with the Ministry of Health to set up focal teams responsible for procedures that are compliant with Islamic custom and practice at all public mortuaries’ ”, he quoted.

For the avoidance of doubt, the said publication is mischievous, deliberately distorted and calculated to whip-up anti-Muslim sentiments against the NDC and the JOHN MAHAMA 2020 Campaign.

Muslims,in particular, and the general public are therefore entreated to disregard that offensive publication by treating it with the contempt it deserves.

NPP Must Suffer For Ignoring Ashanti Region – Muntaka

Published

on

Member of Parliament for Asawase constituency in the Ashanti region, Muntaka Mubarak, has called on electorates in the region to boot out the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) from power after it has consistently taken the region for granted because it has been its reliable stronghold.

According to Muntaka, the Ashanti region has not experienced any major development from the NPP although it has always been the party’s stronghold.

To him, the region is only becoming a village under the NPP because of poor road networks and infrastructure.

“Ashanti region has shown commitment to NPP but NPP has not shown gratitude. NPP has not shown that what the region has done they appreciate so they must take their vote away to teach them that if you’re NPP government and you disregard Ashanti region this is what is going to happen to you. I think when they do that any NPP government in future will take Ashanti region seriously,” the legislator stated.
