We Will Not Beg Government Anymore – GPRTU

Published

on

According to Alhaji Abass Imoro, the GPRTU’s industrial relations officer, there is no longer a need to implore the government to lower fuel prices in order to ease the current challenges experienced by the good people of the nation.

He said that the suggestion put up by the GPRTU on May Day this year to remove some fuel taxes as a measure to manage the continuously rising cost of fuel in the nation was explicitly rejected by the president, who has the last say in the matter.

The only alternative left is to raise transportation prices, so there is no need to ask the government for the same thing again. Instead, move forward and take action by sharing the burden with their customers.

Regarding their (GPRTU’s) intention to make yet another fifteen percent (15%) increase in fuel prices in the coming days, these assertions were stated in an interview on “Good Afternoon Ghana” on metro TV.
