The national communications director for the New Patriotic Party, Lawyer Buabeng Asamoah has said that Ghana cannot grow on debt during the morning show on Movement TV, following Dr Bawumia’s speech  on the state of the Econony at the Tescon event which took place on 7th April,2022 at Yesu Krom in the Central Region.

It is certain that, the world is not going to be the same again after the absurd of the corona virus pandemic and lockdown. The world has witnessed a stagnant growth in the economy, there has been a decline in employment, GDC has reduced, poverty has increased and most countries are now recovering from the economic shock and Ghana is such countries.

Speaking with Oheneba, Lawyer Buabeng said that, Ghana’s economy cannot recover on debt after covid 19 especially when the debt does not bring in financial returns in the shortest possible time. He added that the borrowed monies are used for building technical and vocational institute, colleges, roads, providing water and almost everything we use as a country.

He emphasized that, the best way to grow the money is to allow Ghanaians invest in the economy through tax and shares.

“We must allow Ghanaians to invest in the economy because is the best way we can build our economy. Politicking the current state of the economy which is as a result of covid 19 and Russian-Ukraine war will not help us fight the global crises”. He declared

He added that, foreign investors maximize profit and take it back to their country to grow their economy at the expense of the invested country.
