A communications team member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Asafo Agyei, has stated that if elections are held on today, a 47% win is assured for the party.

Speaking on Movement In The Morning Show, on Wontumi Radio/Movement TV, Mr. Agyei said that “the NPP on any day when our structures and machines for elections are ready, a 47% win is assured. The NDC has never won 51% in an election before every time there’s a controversial 50% and we know how all these elections they have won them. So I will plead that we mobilize our base. We must do that by motivating our base”.

“If we mobilize our base, the election is a foregone conclusion.  You pamper them and let them know you care so much about them. But from what I’m monitoring on social media, here’s a growing kind of attitude where NPP members on social media are writing things which are appalling- I remember I heard about Ghana’s decision to go to the international monetary fund (IMF) on social media. I was in Germany by then on board on a train to see a friend and this same friend was the person that broke the news to me so I decided to confirm it from an NPP friend on Facebook only for me to realize that this friend has posted a picture of an elephant with a broken leg, which signifies something. We need to mobilize and motivate our base”, he stressed.

Adding that “the social interventions we have implemented is turning out as a weapon against us. Check all our policies. So we need to motivate our base and it’s our responsibility. There must be a conscious effort to motivate our base and the election is a done deal”.
